About DRMM

DRMM is the home of Texas model builder Kyle Guerry. I have been building models off and on for over 30 years, seriously in the last 7 years or so. I have a passion for armor modeling, and have begun to dabble in the last few years in figure painting after being indoctrinated by figure painter David Lakin of Tennessee in 2005.

I am a fan of the Spanish style of armor model building and finishing, championed by the likes of Mig Jimenez and others. I compete occasionally, and have been fortunate enough to make several treks to great shows in Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Oklahoma, and Georgia where military history abounds.

I love studying WW2 and American Civil War history, following the New York Yankees, Dallas Cowboys, and Dallas Stars, listening to Eric Clapton and Third Day, and I am a big fan of the Ford Mustang.

The majority of the work on this site is mine, with an occasional post displaying the work of other modelers that I greatly admire. My favorite subjects for figure painting are American Civil War figures, while my favorite armor projects generally fall in the category of German armor and vehicles from the Western Front of WW2. My favorite armored vehicles are the Panther, Abrams, and T-55. I'm still relatively new to building aircraft, and haven't really found my niche yet.

My tools include MIG finishing products, Iwata airbrushes, Tamiya and Vallejo acrylic paints, Tamiya Model Magazine, and AFV Modeller Magazine. My favorite kits come from Dragon and Alpine Miniatures.

I hope you enjoy the blog and find something here that is useful to you!
